Spanish startup converts CO² into renewable energies
Carbon dioxide emissions and the resulting greenhouse effect are an increasingly serious problem. But science is advancing and projects such as the Spanish startup Absorved shed a ray of light on the matter. Founded by Fernando Cervigón de la Morena, an entrepreneur linked to different projects to curb global warming, Absorved has achieved something revolutionary: capturing CO² from the atmosphere or from industrial processes through a photobioreactor that works with algae, and transforming it into biofuels, i.e. into clean and renewable energy.
The best thing about this system, according to its founder, is that it can be scaled to any environment, such as home air conditioners and even the tunnels of Madrid’s M-30. In addition, its simple operation (the photobioreactor only needs light, water and CO² to work) makes it very accessible. Absorved is currently looking for investors to commercialize its groundbreaking solution for transforming carbon dioxide emissions into renewable energy.
