Malaga building nominated for EU contemporary architecture awards
Malaga has art on all four sides and in every sense. This is confirmed by the nomination that one of its buildings has just received for the Mies van der Rohe or contemporary architecture awards organised by the European Union. The building that in 2024 will compete with the rest of the candidates for this prestigious recognition is the new Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy of the UMA. Located on the Teatinos campus, the building stands out for its striking design, with a white structure on top and a glazed area at the base. A concept that its creators have presented as a kind of “great architectural forest” whose branches are “learning and teaching”. In addition, the faculty is an example of sufficient architecture with an A energy rating, as it runs on renewable energies thanks to the bioclimatic garden with photovoltaic panels and passive systems built on the roof.
