Sue Law, the multidisciplinary artist who teaches us to love process
It sounds like a self-help book, but if we are talking about art, can we think that the process has more weight than the final result? Sue Law is a multidisciplinary artist who shows us, through the variety of materials and techniques she works with, that you have to enjoy what you do. Exploring, getting lost, reflecting are part of the creative process for Law, who in her works often explores themes such as negative space or the absence/presence dichotomy.
In the artist’s portfolio there is room for sculptures that include resin portraits, bronze masks that are just zig-zag patches of faces, translucent shoes that show the position of the foot -encapsulated inside-, small pieces of plaster… Also paintings, which explore depth with reliefs and are almost “wall sculptures”, as Law calls them. The artist shows her works in the Cambridge ArtWorks studio and on her Instagram account @suelawart.
