The magic hour of the Monastery of Pedralbes
Far from the madding crowd, the imposing three-story cloister of the Monestir de Pedralbes offers you a different cultural plan in which to enjoy peace and serenity, traveling back in time through the Gothic architecture of the complex. Every Tuesday and Friday until September 15, the monastery organizes what they have called “The magic hour”, which is nothing more than the free entrance to the cloister -considered one of the largest in the world- to enjoy the silence, calm and the sunset.
The cloister dates back to 1327, when Queen Elisenda de Montcada inaugurated it supported by her husband James II, and was inhabited by Poor Clare nuns until 1983. It is well worth a visit, with special mention of the Queen’s tomb and the 14th century stained glass windows.
