Alicante from the heights: a natural viewpoint without leaving the city
In the age of rooftops, a long hike to enjoy the views may seem unnecessary if you’re not particularly keen on hiking. The good news is that to get to this viewpoint you’ll only have to walk 30 minutes (or 40 if you take it easy) and you won’t need to take the car or even leave the city.
We’re talking about the Serra Grossa viewpoint, a mountain just 1 km from the emblematic Santa Bárbara Castle, located in front of the sea and from the top of which you can see the bay of Alicante in all its splendour. If you go at night, you can admire the illuminated city skyline, while if you visit during the day, you might even catch a glimpse of Benidorm on the horizon if the skies are clear. We’ll take pity on you and tell you that the route can be done by bike or motorbike, but don’t be lazy and enjoy this pleasant stroll with the reward of some dreamy panoramic views. You can access the viewpoint from the Plaza del Mar tram stop.
