Ruta dels Molins: unwind on this getaway full of nature and history
The city is cool, but who doesn’t like to get up early on a Sunday to go hiking in nature? OK, maybe not everyone, but with this getaway we propose you can enjoy the outdoors without ending up full of aches and pains.
We’re talking about the Ruta dels Molins, in Banyeres de Mariola, a town in Alicante on the banks of the Vinalopó river. A simple route full of history that houses the remains of what was once an authentic industrial centre of the paper industry. Of the nine mills that existed in the golden age of these facilities (18th to 20th centuries), only three remain today: Molí de l’Ombria - with a recreational area perfect for a bucolic picnic -, Molí Sol - the largest and the one that was the headquarters of the Black and White cigarette paper factory, which became popular in Spain and America - and Molí Pont, the most modern of the three.
If you need a day of disconnection, don’t hesitate to immerse yourself in this pleasant route in the heart of the Sierra de Mariola.
